2 Weeks New – Tacoma Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

November 4, 2013

It’s hard to believe that just a few short weeks ago, I was documenting little baby Hugo’s birth. When I went back to see him and his family 2 weeks later, it was clear that the transition from two to three kids was as smooth as anyone could hope for. While Mom was stressing about a messy house and piles of laundry for pictures, I assured her that it was all relevant to their lives right now. Bringing home a new baby and third child means that laundry collects much faster and that cloth diapers take over for a while. It means that dirty dishes collect in the kitchen while everyone snuggles with the baby. It means that birthday decorations are left up a little longer because now there is a third birthday for this family to celebrate in October. In this house it means that big brother and big sister still act like themselves, maybe even a little bit sweeter sometimes. They will read their favorite stories to their new baby brother and follow up with mid-morning dance parties. Days will be filled with nursing breaks and milk comas, diaper changes and more naps. A new baby means grandparents will visit even more frequently and drop off sweet, handmade gifts. It means parents will spend hours getting lost in those tiny baby details and it means this home will be filled with more love than anyone could have imagined.
