The last beginner workshop you'll ever need

As much as I'm sure we would all love me to be there to capture every Instagram worthy moment, I can't be. It's time to gain some control over your camera so you can fill in the gaps between sessions!

Making Awesome Pictures is for anyone who knows nothing about photography except that you need to press a button in order for your camera to take a picture.

If you're ready to finally learn how to use your camera and take pictures that matter
THIS IS FOR YOU.

Finally we'll tackle editing. You'll be able to work your way through Lightroom or Photoshop to create clean, timeless edits.

We'll move beyond the rules of basic composition and explore advanced techniques to help tell stronger stories with your images.

I'll teach you how to identify and navigate a wide range of lighting situations that you'll encounter in the real world.

Then we'll jump into the creative side, making sure you have a solid understanding of some basic, yet effective composition techniques.

You'll learn how to use your light meter and troubleshoot specific issues so you can create technically sound images.

We'll cover everything you need to know about your settings and how to achieve proper exposure.

How do I know we're a good fit?

If you're curious but unsure, send me an email. I have a questionnaire that I can send you to get a better idea of where you're at right now and I can make a recommendation based on that.

What kind of time commitment is required?

It's completely up to you! I designed this course to to be self-paced so you can work on the material when you have time and take breaks when you don't. The more time you put in, shooting and interacting with others in the forum, the more you’ll get out of our time together.

Do I need certain equipment?

All you need is a camera capable of shooting in Manual mode. We will talk about camera limitations as they come up but I want you to know how to use the equipment you have before you go out to buy anything. If you're in the market for a new camera or lens, I will send a list of recommendations when you sign up for the workshop.

Do I need specific editing software?

We'll focus on editing with Lightroom and Photoshop (along with Adobe Camera Raw) but you can apply the knowledge of the basic adjustments we'll go over to most other programs if they have the same controls. If you want to try Lightroom or Photoshop, you can use a free trial or sign up with the Adobe Creative Cloud for $10/month.

Will I lose access to the forum at the end?

Yes, though you can extend for another six months if you feel you need it for $100.

YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS, I'VE GOT ANSWERS

- Emily R.

I feel like there are so many resources that you can read on how to shoot manual mode. But it wasn't until I worked with Kayla that things started to make sense. I can't believe how different my pictures are from the beginning till now!

"Review #2 goes right here. Vice paleo bitters before they sold out, single-origin coffee marfa subway dollar toast iceland. Mlkshk,  tousled flannel celiac pork belly roof party. Poke vexillologist vaporware."

"I tripled my sales using your method!"

"To add more reviews, just duplicate this canvas view and swap out the text and photo. Vice paleo bitters before they sold out, single-origin coffee marfa subway tile tilde activated."

"Working with you was a dream. Thank you!!"
