Pumpkin Patch – Tacoma Family Photographer

October 28, 2013

A couple of weeks ago, we went to one of the many local pumpkin patches here in Western Washington at the Thomasson Family Farm. Last year we took Silas to a pumpkin patch, but he was still a little wobbly on his feet so it was really fun to see him explore more this year. At the Thomasson Farm in Enumclaw, there were tons of activities for kids. When we first arrived, Silas saw the bubble table and the water spouts and all but forgot about the actual pumpkin patch. We practically had to drag him from one activity to the next because he was so engrossed in what he was doing. After he was all bubbled out, he drove a tractor straight to the Corn Box. For those of you who don’t know, a Corn Box is like a sand box but with corn instead of sand and it’s about a thousand times more fun. The only way we were able to get him away from the Corn Box was to show him the animals. He took turns staring down the farm animals until he saw the kitties. He was in love with those little guys. I almost broke down and got a cat on the way home. Almost. Finally, we made it to the pumpkins, wheelbarrow in tow. After all of that, he picked out a pumpkin that was just his size and paid for it by himself. What a difference between last year’s trip and this year’s. And did I mention we lucked out with gorgeous weather?
