September 2021 (365)

October 1, 2021

I’ve been looking forward to September for a few months now. It marks a mini turning point in our lives (maybe imagined, maybe not). Two years ago I gave birth for the last time. No more babies means that the older Yara gets, the further we get from the all-consuming 24/7 parenting that comes with them.

Listen, I’m not saying that two years is any easier than six months, but it’s way more fun for me. Yara is currently yelling at me from the living room because she can’t see me, but the older she gets, the more she is able to communicate with us, joke with us, and surprise us with what she can do. It’s my favorite age.

Also, my dad finally got to meet her for the first time, two days before her birthday. Instant BFFs.
