I may have mentioned it before, but I have a Harry Potter obsession. It’s a sickness really, but as long as it doesn’t interfere with my day to day living, I won’t seek treatment. Lately, my sweet boy has been asking to watch Harry Potter. When I was pregnant with him, I fantasized about the future when we would indulge in days-long Harry Potter movie marathons. For Halloween then, it was pretty much set in stone that he’d be dressed up as Harry Potter. As the weeks before Halloween flew right past me, I left my grand plans for a completely handmade costume at the door. We would have no hand stitched robes and no Dobby costume for the dog. What we had instead was casual Harry and a Harry who switched to contacts for half of the night because someone didn’t like the glasses. Once Silas was all dressed, with his scar in place, he waited impatiently at the door for Dad to come home. Hmm.. maybe a bit of magic will help hurry things along. We headed out to Tacoma’s Stadium District to trick-or-treat at the shops in the neighborhood and Silas learned fast that all he had to do was look cute and hold out his bucket. After he was all worn out and crashing from the biggest sugar high of his little life, we went home for some sweet sweet dreams.
