I’m sitting here, struggling to recap January and I’m going to assume it’s just because things finally mellowed out a bit for us (obviously the US was on something else).

I officially started classes to meet the requirements to become an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC)! I graduated from UCSD in 2009. I haven’t taken a class in almost 12 years. It’s been a trip having to take quizzes and do homework again, but I got 100% on my mid-term so it’s basically like riding a bike.

Yara is a full grown toddler now. It happened some time last week. She just woke up one day and was taller and sociable in a way she hadn’t been before. She’s communicating with us more reliably (this is the light at the end of the baby tunnel) and makes jokes. 1.5-3.5yo is my favorite age and we’re almost there!

And the boys (Dad included) spent the entire month playing on the awesome Ninja Slackline I gave them for Christmas.
