June 2, 2021

As I sit here, staring down the barrel of summer 2021, things are starting to look like that pre-pandemic life. I just got my second covid vaccine this morning (hey sore arm!) which means in a couple of weeks I’ll be able to go to the grocery store without a mask, to get coffee without a mask. Time to work on reigning in my RBF. Or not.

Arlo finishes kindergarten next week and the following week Silas starts a prep-for-fourth-grade summer program at school. I’m not saying he didn’t learn ANYTHING this last year, but I am saying I’m not cut out for homeschooling while also parenting a very spirited 1yo and running a business (and going to school myself). Homeschooling him was 100% the best decision for us for this year, but returning to our regularly scheduled program in the fall is also 100% the best decision for us.

But anyway, I’m super looking forward to this summer and not having to drive back and forth to school for drop-off/pick-up a hundred times a day. Maybe some visits from family and friends now that travel restrictions are easing…
