When I was living on Guam, it was the beach. Everyone wanted at least one family session at the beach. In San Diego, it’s Balboa Park. Guys, I gettttt it. I grew up here. I have the same picture of me sitting in front of The Fountain as a tot that all of you who grew up here have.

In-home sessions will be my favorite until the day I stop photographing families. I want to see you when you feel the most relaxed, behaving the most naturally, looking and feeling the most like YOU, and that is just easiest to do inside your home. Your homes are also really freaking cool! It’s so fascinating being able to see all the little ways we’re so different from each other. For my in-home sessions, your house often shows up in photos as another member of the family. But I digress.

At some point, you’re going to want to have a session with me OUT of the house. Totally cool with me. We can absolutely have a session with all of the real life nonsense that you love about my work at Balboa Park.

When we plan your session for Balboa Park, you have to remember it’s gonna be a mess. You’re going to be chasing after your little ones. They’re going to want to touch everything in the Spanish Art Village. They’re going to try to jump into the big fountain… any fountain actually. They’ll run up on stage at the Organ Pavilion. It’s fine. They’ll sleep so good afterward.

I still won’t pose you. Please don’t wait for me to tell you how to stand or where to put your hand. It’s gonna get awkward really quick if you do. But yes, we can go to Balboa Park and I can photograph you while you play with your family.
