June was a weird month… technically still IS a weird month. I’ve been trying to wrap my mind around the news we got at the end of May. We’re moving to a new country in a few months and planning out everything that we need to get done before we leave (and trying to figure out how we’ll get set up once we’re there) has taken up most of my mental energy. When I’m stressed, I don’t feel too creative. When I don’t have a specific project to work on, I don’t shoot as often as I know I should. I’ve been slacking when it comes to shooting for myself this month. I’ve been uninspired and unfocused. On the days when I did pick up my camera, I ended up rejecting most of what I shot right away. I can’t even tell you how frustrating this has been. I feed off of my own creativity. I have this compulsion to create. But June was just a struggle. I looked through my unedited photos from this month over the weekend and I was really surprised to find images that made me happy. I had dismissed these photos. I had forgotten about them. Are they all amazing? No, but they all make me smile and they’re all pictures that I’m glad to have. Here’s to a better July!
