Want to know the real secret to an amazing photo session with kids?

Let them decide what we’re doing. It’s really that simple.

A major perk to planning your session at home is that kids generally know what they want to do and will waste zero time bouncing from room to room, activity to activity. They also already know the rules (whether or not they follow them all while I’m there is another story). You’ll spend less time scanning your environment, working out all the creative ways your kids will try to hurt themselves and more time just having fun with them.

If the kids want a snack, they can grab a snack. If they want to hide away in their room for a bit, it’s right there. If they want to play with any of their favorite toys, games, or crafts, all they have to do is pull them out.

I will still help you plan your session before I arrive, but remember that the kids will ultimately decide what we do. That’s a feature, not a bug.
