Take a Treasure, Leave a Treasure – Family Storytelling Photography

June 15, 2016

When people hire me to photograph their families, I’m often asked to document some pretty significant moments. The birth of a new baby, siblings meeting for the first time, birthdays, anniversaries. Sarah’s session was no exception. We met in Tacoma years ago and in 2014 I photographed the birth of her youngest daughter. When I moved to the Netherlands, I had assumed that it would be a lifetime before we crossed paths again; as fellow military family, I knew they wouldn’t stay in Washington forever. Luckily, for both of us, I was able to make a trip back right before their impending move. It was important for Sarah to have these pictures to remember a tiny bit of her family’s adventures in Washington and of life before another cross country move.
